Well, thats front discs, pads all round and two full rear hub assemblies en route. Bargain price for the lot too.

Just to co-erce ECP into getting me some rear discs!

I gave up with ECP and went with Brakes International in the end ;)

I got the bits so far (front discs, pads all round and bearings) from ClickCarParts. They didn't have any rears in stock :(

Only reason I'm badgering ECP is that I have a discount code to use, 30% off :)

Well, ordered some bits for her today. Front springs and wheel bearings, and she's booked in for 4 new tyres on Sunday (Kumho Ecstas). Got to source front ARB bush kit now, any hints for a place to purchase?

And dependent on any additional cost on the MOT, I am going to get some goodies to tidy up the engine bay. There is some localised rust on bolts and a few other ares (nothing scary) so I plan to remove said rust and paint said areas. I was going to get an oil and radiator cap, but the ones in the bay look brand new. The exhaust heat shield, I shall try and polish up as best as possible, and generally make it clean and OEM as possible (although I am tempted with an induction kit).

A few pics of the bay as it stands:

Well wasn't that a barrel of laughs. I suppose it has to be expected of a 14yr old car. Drop links were shagged too, so we replaced them along with the springs. Turns out, the ARB bushes are actually pretty decent, read immaculate with no play or perishing whatsoever. So the tester who advised on them on the last MOT was really off the ball that day. £40 out of pocket on those, but I suppose they can sit in the spares box along with the bearings.

4.5 hours to replace the springs and drop links due to the old girl being a smidgen seized.

Well today was productive and frustrating in equal measure. Firstly, I discovered my MTX amp was dead (in the Vectra), so had to wire in a horrid Edge powered enclosure to keep the wife happy. I fitted the new headunit without fuss :)

I then proceeded to rip my old Pioneer headunit out of the Lude. Did the bugger want to come out? Did it heck. The removal keys I had were way too short, so demolition of the facia ensued. Much easier I will say, now I now how to get it out to wrap :D
