On Sunday I had a brainwave and put the following facts together (as seen in photo's through the thread);
- Evidence of break in via top trailing edge of drivers door...
- The car has oem remote central locking fitted, but no remote central locking key...
- The ignition switch doesn't have the outer illuminated ring, but the column has the illuminated bulb wiring and bulb there, hanging loose...
- The ignition switch doesn't have the charging prongs for the remote central locking key, but the column has 2 spare wires hanging down with 2 metal 'prongs'...
- The ignition key is an OEM Honda key, but not a prelude type shape and is plastic coated rather than 'rubber'...
- The car has evidence of previous crash repair at the front...
- It has rare/expensive side and rear skirts but strangely only an oem front lip...
- The car is Cat C registered...

:!: ...Can you see where this is going..? :?

Yep! :lol: I'm pretty sure this is a bona-fide stolen recovered vehicle at some point in its past and has had the ignition switch changed for 'any old Honda' barrel lock to get it back on the road after recovery/being released by the insurance company, which is why the key charging and illuminate ring have been left out.

The car is from Dunblane area at some point in its past (dealer's name on the after-market plates). Any of our Scottish friends have any lude connections in that area? :D

i did hear from someone that there was a white lude in Kirkliston which is just outside Edinburgh - some shady characters out there.....
closest to Dunblane would be JDMBB4 i think :?

Yeah I don't recall ever seeing this.
Although if its first uk owner was in Dunblane there was an import garage there called Dicksons of Dunblane(now closed but there is a Dickson's of Perth importing the last I knew.) It could have been bought from them or the garage were down as the owner?!?

Dicksons of dunblane was a honda dealership until it closed (this is where i served my time as a painter)
Dicksons of perth went down the import route when they lost all their franchises :ugeek:

Bingo!

Also searching on t'interweb found this was the fate of the company...
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/tay ... 949646.stm
Some interesting quotes on there! :lol:

Anyway, some more evidence found while rooting round in the car at JAE... A tax disc showing it was taxed in Melrose, Roxburghshire (a county that I'd never even heard of :lol: )

Also found some more stuff from the previous Carrozzeria ICE install - a tweeter, some more speaker wiring up inside the rear quarter panels (ends snipped off on all these) and then found these installed inside the front seats;
Image
They're in the back of both and under the squabs too! :shock: These also have all the wires just snipped off :roll:
I just don't get it... You leave large amounts of the actual high end ICE gear in the car, but snip off the wires - what the drokk is all that about? :huh:
Still more investigating to do into this car I think... :hurr:

Well there you are. Some of its history revealed.

They had all sorts of Japanese import exotica up there on the forecourt whenever I went up for a look.
I think they turned to imports after being a honda dealer, as I do remember them being honda specialists as Stuart said.

Interesting find on the speakers. :?
