lock mechanism

my drivers side door will not unlock it seems that something has dropped off inside the door does anyone have any ideas as to the best way to remedy it? the central locking and handle linkage is fine and the passenger door unlocks and locks fine

Not sure if this will help.. But a few months back when locking mine it sounded like something snapped. I then could not unlock or lock. The lock just seemed to stop working as a lock. After a few days of climbing in from the passenger side, I decided to spray wd40 into the broken lock left it 10 mins the worked the key and all was good.

This happened twice.
It's now been fine for 6months

You could try this lol.

have tried this and left the doorcard off for now will wait and see in the morning

well covering the mechanism inside and out worked for a day but now back to the same issue thankfully i left the doorcard off any other ideas?

You say something has dropped off inside the door?
What makes you think that? Pics of what you can see?
