Old and new, old with gearbox, ATTS and wiring loom removed already, ready to start working on new unit
original ATTS unit cleaned up ready for refit
New engine with new water pump, balance shaft oil seal and retainer, new tensioner roller assembly and auto tensioner
New timing belt, balance shaft belt, tensioners and tensioner rollers
Now to another hold up. Buying an engine that has been in a front end collision was always a slight worry, but James had reassured me he had the engine checked upon removal. But issues have arisen.
Here are the bolts that secure the cam belt side engine mount. Note how bent the long one is !!
Engine mount fixing holes/threads –
Far top right of pic is the broken part of block/thread where the long bent bolt was.
Center right bolt hole has been damaged, see small crack in alloy to left of thread at 9 o’clock position which has also “bowed” the flat surface. Also note damage to thread.
so the new block has damage.

fan"bloody"tastic. not too bad, but not ideal.
Just for comparison – this is the “new engine” mount removed and bolted up onto my “old engine” – see how far off the top bolt hole is. Yes this plate is adjustable via the two bolts but I wanted to show how far off it was, most likely due to impact damage of the accident. my“old engine” mount has been transferred to the “new engine” with no need for adjustment, The threads have been cleaned up as best as possible, not much could be done with the broken section but a few good threads at the bottom. All bolts have been Loctited for security.
