So going by that, the oil pump I have that the guy had bought for the block Rob has was intended for an A1 anyway. I just need to find out whether it's of no use to me which I'll do tonight.
Apparently it's an OBD1/OBD2 thing where an OBD1 oil pump won't have the mounting hole for the crank sensor, which you will need if running a standard OBD2 set up. That might not be of an issue to me as I'll still be running OBD1 with hondata/AEM EMS, but I just want to check the crank seal size.

Well it actually looks like the oil pump I have is suited to an H22a7/a8

2000 H22a7 Oil Pump

Note the 5 bosses around the crank seal on the 2000 Oil Pump, and then compare that to the basic crescent shape in the same area under the 93-96 one.
... Then look at mine...

So sorry bud, looks like it's not the one you're after (but the one I need

Well I think we've established that A1's and A2's are the same

Ok cool, well import from USA but it couldn't possibly make it here for the weekend.
I'm not paying £400 so I may have to use the one on the other car. But I'll keep looking
