Swap 94 analogue dash for digital 96

Ok well a lot works but I have things that don't.

Indicators say they are on in the car but they aren't on outside but you turn them on and they work fine outside plus I have this, 4 slow 1 fast abs light flashes and 7 slow 1 fast 4ws then lots fast .

Just to clarify, did you swap a UK facelift loom and dials into a pre facelift UK car?
That indicator issue sounds like an earth to me, on mine there was one extra wire, a black one on the passenger side. Connected that to earth, solved.

Yes swapped the whole thing including looms. I'll pop it out, can it come out with out removing the whole dash?

Sorry what exactly? The dials? You can take them out on their own of sorts, but you still need to take the long 'visor' off and possibly the temp and fuel dials I think to get to the screws on that side. Once you've done it a few times, it's like 5 mins. I had to take mine out almost straight away for another set of EL's as the first ones were giving me a duff speed reading.

Do you know which wire requires earthing?

There's an extra black wire, that terminates at the end of the passenger side of the loom, in the foot well. It should be the only one that seems to go nowhere - attach it to an earth point and that should sort it.

that's fine benny - I didn't do my swap by swapping complete dash looms so you're way better placed to answer this than I am!

I just know I had to find an extra earth to connect into the plugs up at the clocks themselves. The oem wiring diagrams show (from memory) 3 separate earths coming into the EL dials, but it labels each of them as going to the same one pin - this is a gentleman's sausage up! (they should go to different pins) I sussed out which pin one of the earths should go to and that fixed the indicators, but I never did work out where a third should go to and it doesn't seem to matter, because everything works fine (final earth possibly only required for the auto gear indicator was my conclusion).

Anyway, back to this one... I wouldn't know where they are/aren't connected when you swap the full looms back to the fuse box I'm afraid - benny's your man for that!

Basically, if its a UK car, UK loom and UK dials, it really is like for like, except for that extra wire, and that's accesible from behind the passenger footwell cover. Or should be!

To be fair, wurly was much braver than I, I held out for the parts that would hopefully make it as simple as poss.

Ok I'll take it out and find the wire, we did earth it but I think maybe the wrong one.....oops
