Intermittent wipers not working!

Post by alinton » Sun Aug 10, 2014 8:13 pm

Could some kind soul post a pic of the internal and external fuse box labels please?

I don't read Japanese.

My intermittent wipers aren't working, wondering if its a fuse or relay failure. Wipers work, but not intermittently.

Cheers!

Andy

I'm not 100% sure, but I have a feeling that the intermittent wiper is controlled by the ICU (a white box of electrical magic under your dash somewhere), it isn't in the fusebox..

It is indeed. The white box plugged in to the back of the footwell fuse box...

For the record a 5th gen one won't work in a 4th and vice versa.

Thanks - but where is this? I've had a look and can't see it in the driver's footwell.

The manual seems to say its part of the fusebox, but it sure ain't on mine.

Learn Chinese. Not even joking, the majority of Japanese is Chinese. If you can read kanji you can figure a lot out with regards to the names on the fusebox ;)

You know this fusebox?...

It's literally plugged in behind the coloured fuses.

That's interesting, mine's not like that. I've got a couple of gold-coloured relays to the left of the blue relay, and a big flasher unit above them.

The plug in the centre there seems to be the one that the manual says plugs into the elusive module though. Testing pins 15-17 shows that the int wiper switch is working.

I've tested the int relay under the bonnet, and that is also ok.

So what's stopping them working?
