For 5th gens...Raggagirl wrote:215-45-zr18-93w
215/35/18 - Larger Contact Patch, Small Profile means Less Protection for Wheels
215/40/18 - Larger Contact Patch, Overall Diameter is Larger
225/35/18 - Even Larger Contact Patch, Recommended tire size for 18x7.5" with at least a +48mm offset
225/40/18 - Even Larger Contact Patch, Overall Diameter is Larger, Not Recommended if car is Lowered
So your tyre wall is approximately 6.75mm taller than the 225/40r18's which isn't recommended if the car is lowered.
As Bennyboy says though, it'll run better on 17's with a decent sized tyre. 18's just have no tyre wall to avoid rubbing, but then they handle so harshly.

That's understandable, but that means either arch work, or stiffer springs or standard suspension. Not much else you can do. Again, this is all assuming it's rubbing on the outer arch.
Do you know what width and offset your rims are?
