Not a fan of the red visors on the grey headlining - they look a bit 'lost' or 'stuck on as an afterthought' atm?
They may well look different when you see it all together for real though, of course...

To be honest your probably right. From the inside they do look a bit lost but they look good from the outside when they're down as they're a perfect match to the seats. Also I wouldn't mind a red BB6 headlining without the sunroof, that way I could do a sunroof delete.wurlycorner wrote:Wheel looks perfect in there.

Being a motegi my lude came with the standard H22A8 so was by no means slow and it also came with a nice red rocker cover. The paint on the rocker cover however had started to peel and looked a mess and I quite fancied the idea of trying to squeeze a little extra power from the engine.
Please bear in mind that at this point this was the first time I'd lifted a car bonnet with the intention of anything other than checking the oil or filling up the washer tank.
So, firstly I gave the rocker cover a coat of wrinkle red which I wasn't really happy with at the time but it looks ok in the pics. I then ordered some NGK Iridium spark plugs, NRG 10.2mm leads, a Greddy catch can and an AEM V2 intake system.
Unfortunately I have no pics of the fitting process but after much head scratching and some swearing my engine bay looked something like this.

To be honest the AEM intake came with very comprehensive instructions and was fairly easy to fit. The catch can however didn't and even to this day I'm not 100% certain where to place the pipes to get the best results. Anyway that's a whole different argument that I'm sure I'll get to the bottom of someday.

Thanks, to be honest aside from the rocker cover the bay was pretty clean. Whoever owned it before me must have cleaned it regularly.wurlycorner wrote:Minty fresh under there...

If I recall correctly, the figures always showed the H22a8 as having the fastest 0-60 times despite the Type-S engine having an extra 23hp, due to the extra weight of the ATTS system. I have therefore always been under the impression that:
- The H22a8 gets off the line a little faster than the Type-S
- The Type-S is quicker around fast corners thanks to the ATTS system, being similar in operation to a Quaife LSD
- The H22a8 BB8 chassis can corner faster on slower, sharp turns thanks to the 4WS system
If anybody knows this to be wrong then feel free to correct me!

Thanks, those statements all seem fairly logical but surely the weight saving from the atts would be counteracted by the weight of the 4ws ?SPYDOR wrote:That looks mint, great work! Really must paint my rocker cover soon...

JDM Preludes do have some lighter components like the front bumper protector and the Type-S has no sunroof among other things, although I believe the gearing is fairly similar except for a shorter 3rd gear on the Type-S.
Anyway, we digress... your car is looking good and the H22a8 is no slouch, just a shame they didn't fit the H22a7 Accord Type-R head and intake as stock!
