All usb cables are the same. You need a USB A to B cable as found in most printers.

You need to have the Hondata SManager installed. That is the only program that will talk to the ECU and open the skl file.
http://www.hondata.com/smanager.html
To install the new map you need to connect the laptop to the ECU, turn on the ignition to position 1 so the ECU gets power, open the new map in the SManager, then upload it to the ECU.

Save the Maps to a folder on your computer for safe keeping.
Connect the laptop to the ECU, open the SManager, turn on the ignition to power up the ECU, in the SManager go File/open and find the new map, then go Online/Upload. The new map will then be in the ECU.
Likewise if you want to modify something (turn on launch control etc..) you go:
Connect the laptop to the ECU, open the SManager, turn on the ignition to power up the ECU, in the SManager go Online/Download, do your modification, save the new/modified map to your computer by going File/Save As, then go Online/Upload to put the new/modified map in the ECU.

That is more of a loss than I would have expected. How loud is it with and without the bung?
While you are mucking about with your ECU it may be beneficial to recalibrate your TPS. I had to do this on my 4th the other week as it was a bit bub-bub-bub at idle.
With the laptop attached to the ECU and powered, click on the lighting icon in the bar at the top. This puts the ECU in live mode. Go to the TPS tab and you will see min and max TPS values with "read" boxes next to them. To set the minimum value don't press any pedals and hit the "read" box, this sets the min value. To set the max value push the accelerator to the floor (don't mash it to the floor though, just a natural depression) and hit the max "read" box. That is the TPS calibrated. Do the Online/Upload to put the new/modified map in the ECU and save your modified map to the PC.
If you ever screw anything up you can always re-load one of your saved maps. Always have a saved map! First time I mucked about with my S300 I bollocks'd it up and had to get Rich from PAW to sort it via email

1st time I used the car was at Cadwell without a bung & they told me 104db static!
I had a bung made & then at Snetterton it measured 92db static.
This confused me & I think the Cadwell reading wasn't accurate.
When I had the cams fitted recently they suggested the 2 maps which were emailed
to me. I hopefully shouldn't have to fiddle with any settings & merely switch between
the 2 as required.
