Time for a massive update I guess :)

first of all, I got a new steering wheel and it was worn and horrid ..

now for the embossed momo letters
frist went on with white

Image

and then pink
Image

Image

test fitted and it looks great !!
but the yellow horn buttom would drive me batty..soooo
out it came and  took it apart

Image

Image

got it, I didnt know what it would be like to try and remove the existing piant..

Image

a plastic painted cover .. great :(  took me ages to scrape off

Image

painted on a clear coat nail polish with a candy shimmer off it first

Image

and then went on with pink

Image

Image

missed a few bits so painted everything black over I, and then painted the quick release to match

AND DONE :D

this photo doesn't do it justice, the shimmer is awesome :)

Now, for the more interesting part

the engine was removed.. again :P
the engine bay is absolutley mingin so we decided to take her off the road for a while and pay some attention to under the bonnet!

Image

now that is a dirty engine !
i went on ebay and bought some 36% hydrocloric acid and used it 2 parts acid to 1 part water in a spray bottle and with acid gloves and a felt pad.

done a little bit at a time and also had a pressure washer at hand :)

Image

Image

its a rinse and repeat process but works well

Image

Image

i then went around the whole engine with a dremel with a wire brush attachment, but it was till not good enough

Image

so got these :)

Image

worked well ...
check this before and after :D

ImageImage

looks soo damn good !

also got myself a skunk2 inlet a few months back, here is is next to the standard one after the stuff was swaped over
Image

cleaned and painted this too :)

Image

Image

Image

yuuum !

got to work on the rest of the engine bits :)

Image

dizzy before dremel
Image

and after
Image

and mock fitted some bits :D

bloomin heck that all looks great, but the hand painted pink momo text on the black of the steering wheel looks a little... meh.

i think the metal would look so much better just black without the pink, although the pink in the horn push does look great.

loving the prep in the bay too.

Thabnk you very much man, that means alot :)

and you are right, its a project for me too, but everythig has been donnas own plans and ive just done the labour :D

And speaking of, heres an update ;)

Didn't have time to get the engine bay preped and primerd before the harsh weather came and attacked the bare metal :/

but as soon as I had a good day me n a mate got stuck in and done the best we could before it rained again !

ImageImageImageImageImage
We smoothed it down a bit more and took the vin plate off for now,
I got the paint and base coat this morning and got battered in straight away

ImageImageImageImageImage

But, its not perfect, I have limited time and wasn't prepared to do a perfect job with filler etc etc.
so it was rushed.. still an over all improvment and the paint is wicked in the sun!
