Tyres size be ok for track?

Post by Thebusofwoe » Sun Jul 06, 2014 10:17 pm

Guys, the rear tyres are shot on the wheels i got fitted atm. The size is 205/50 15. The only thing im going to be unable to get is two good tyres for August  Now the oem wheels i have have got nearly new 205/55 15 Yokohama tyres on them. You think it will be ok to mix the 50/55 profile :? Or should i swap all 4 over:?

cheers

If you will keep the same size on each axle then you should be fine. If you mix them then car will stand not level and it will affect handling

Yea was thinking about putting the 55's on the back. But not sure weather it will upset the handling on track :?

I would get the smallest side wall you can. Yeah I wouldn't mix profiles as balance is everything.

In theory, with the larger profile tyres on the rear the rear will sit higher and have slightly more rear downforce? Or is that barryspeak?

Ide say go ahead it couldn't though the car off that much. Id be tempted to put the bigger profile on the front because the front sits lower than the back anyhow. Mybe even it out lol
