I ordered 2 new Toyo tyres for the rear that came today, I have it booked in at my usual tyre place tomorrow to have them fitted and the tracking done.

Re: Rob's BB6 JDM SiR - Vibration Woes :(

Post by rob quilter » Sun Jul 06, 2014 10:33 am

Well since I bought the car its vibrated under acceleration, it goes as soon as you put it into neutral or drop the clutch. So its obviously either the CV driveshafts or engine mounts, I've rocked the engine and it doesn't really move, so I'm going to replace the inner driveshafts.

On the plus side it had 4 new tyres yesterday along with tracking.

I can 99% sure say that my vibration issues are coming from worn inner CV joints. I have ordered 2 new ones, I have also ordered 2 outer ones and I will refurbish the complete driveshafts including a lick of fresh paint.

Pics after yesterday's clean:

I removed the Type S badge, but it lefty loads of sticky crap that I could clean off. So I stuck it back on and I will pick up some sticky stuff remover some point this week to remove the sticky residue.

About the rear shelf, I had the same thing, the 3rd breaklight is in my spoiler and also had a 3rd breaklight not wired up on the rear shelf. So i took out the rear shelf, bought some speakerbox fabric and covered the whole thing up and stapled it at the sides which aren't visible when you put the deck back in. It really looks like new. There's a pic in my topic, first page.

It took me about 2 hours to do this, and it costed my like £10.

Cheers Sven
