I don't mean to be a killjoy, but didn't I read somewhere something about not painting the mating faces of the calipers? @Gayno perhaps?

There is also the fact that Gayno didn't use a torque wrench on the bolts, iirc. Knowing Pushki's attention to detail, I expect he did?

great job done on refurbing the calipers - i love the pic where youve got the calipers back to bare metal

but what drew my eye the most was the fact that front brake heatshields look brand new

wow

iv seen many ludes where these heatshields have disintegrated totally so im presuming youve put new ones on at some point

I didn't paint any of the moving parts such as the pistons or slider pins. I'm sure it'll all be fine.

These are totally original. I did sand them down before fitting the disks and gave them a couple of coats of satin black.

Yes Wurly, I did use a torque wrench.

2 questions for you @Pushki:

1. Are you going for concours-plus (if there is such a thing) where you make the car totally original but better than when it left the factory? ...because that's how it's looking!

and, 2. How often/do you ever drive it??

Hey @duckface, I know what you mean, I am planning a caliper refurb before my MOT in August - but after seeing this, I'm just going to do it and keep quiet about it. Normal humans can't compete with this level of ridiculousness!!
