what tyre width??

Post by macky_6 » Fri Jun 20, 2014 5:24 pm

Hey all :D

Time for some fresh rubber for my new wheels. Unsure as to what width I should go with though?

Wheels are 17x8 and 17x8.5 ET 30

I currently run 16x7 225/45/16 but the tyre roar is a bit excessive.

Suggestions?

Kind regards :D

215/45/17 all rounds. Tyre roar depends on compound and alignment.

Yer. Wider tyres are great but you need the correct wheel width for it to work plus you dont want to make the Lude feel heavy footed especially for a freaking insane road car.
I certainly dont loose grip with 215/45/17 and i dont feel like i need a wider tyres.

As above.

And avoid Yoko Advan Sports as they are loud enough to see off a 747 on approach.

You're also probably aware that some of the tyre sites publish the db ratings, although I think you need to take 'em with a pinch of salt...

I always go with the 'recommended' size of 215/40 (speedo is as close as possible then) ...and then everyone recommends 215/45
