Why so much negativity towards the game?

I don't understand how people can have a passion for watching 11 men, who are each earning more in a week than the majority of "normal" people do in a decade, play a game of football. It doesn't make a difference to them if they win or lose, because they will still be driving home in their 6 figure sports car, to their gold digging supermodel girlfriend.

What is almost as tedious, is the hour or more of "sports analysis" that goes on afterwards.

Different strokes for different folks. You can boil motor F1 down in a similar fashion (and lots of other things for that matter), men monotonously operating a piece of machinery and paid stupid money for doing so. It would be a boring world if we all liked and disliked the same things.

I don't think earnings are relevant to football fans. The world's best at most things tend to be wealthy individuals. I like football so watch football. I like music so listen to it and go to watch concerts.
Should we not like successful bands either if they roll up by helicopter? Your logic would suggest that they don't care how good the show will be as they will be going home to their mansions and sports cars anyway.

I do agree about the 'in depth analysis' (drivel) though. I certainly don't turn on an hour early and not watch the rubbish after the game either.

This maybe true about boiling things down however. F1 drivers don't earn quite as much. But the main difference is they actually put their lives in danger.
I suppose next to "breaking" a hair style footballers can break a tow

and Christ don't we all hear about it!

Personally I'm a rugby boy. I used to like football as a kid until the fake wussy!!! Dramatics took over. One little shirt pull and the players act like they have just had they knee caps sliced off, it's pretty pathetic

But as you say different strokes

it's doesn't bother me that's it's on.. In fact I get very excited... Only 1 year till the rugby World Cup

I agree. Pro footballs are at the top of what they do as opposed to a small village pro footballer. The only difference to other people at the top of their jobs like managers etc is that we watch them perform for entertainment.

I got brought up on football and snooker, since then developed interest in most sports, football, snooker, rugby, tennis,boxing, athletics, f1, btcc, snowboarding.,, personally IMO you cant beat a bit of match day banter with the lads regardless of which team you support unless your a forest fan

anyone that disagrees has obvs been deprived as a child.

I'm keen on many sports. Probably watch more cricket than football nowadays, but still a big Forest Fan!

Also like to get to a number of rugby, ice hockey and boxing events throughout the year too.
