Apologies for the length of the write up, but any genuine buyer will appreciate it! Please take your time to read the full advert.

Here we have my 1995 Honda Civic Coupe in Frost White for sale. After lots of debating and friends trying to talk me round, I have finally decided to sell my pride and joy.

I have owned this car for over 3 years simply as nothing else out there made me smile so much and the fact that I have never seen another one locally. I purchased it totally standard in 2011 from the first owner with approximately 50,000 miles on the clock. The car started its life as a 1.5 lsi automatic and was professionally converted with a JDM H22A Engine & 5 speed manual LSD M2B4 gearbox (2.2 Dohc Vtec) 3 years ago to a high standard by Gerry @ Performancetek. In 2013 the complete running gear was replaced with a lower mileage unit and had the below listed modifications carried out at the same time to gain more power. The car starts first time and every time hot or cold and has not let me down once. It currently has 7 months MOT and 6 months Road TAX. It sailed through its last MOT without any problems. Overall the car’s body is really solid for its age - all arches, sills and underneath are 100% solid. This is a completely rust free shell and is becoming rare to find one especially in this condition.

This car has been well looked after - cleaned on a regular basis and paintwork polished & waxed with premium quality products. It has undergone a professional detail last year which removed any imperfections in the paintwork. It is very tidy from both inside & out – no fading on panels or major dents/scratches etc. Current mileage on the clocks is 62,000 which is well below the average considering it's a 19 years old car - you will be hard pushed to find another example with this sort of mileage and in this rare condition. I have only covered approx’ 10,000 miles since I've owned the car, 7,000mls of this since the first engine conversion. The engine itself has approx’ 78,000 miles which is nothing for these engines as they are known to be bullet proof. I have the relevant documentation to back up the mileage of the engine (copy of v5 belonging to the car the engine was removed from, every single Mot certificate available and some service history of the engine).

The car comes with the usual spec: E/W, E/M, E/S, Factory immobiliser, Adjustable steering. This car is really cheap to both insure and tax as it’s still registered as a 1.5 engine on the logbook. Along with the car 2 keys, 2 immobiliser fobs, 2 Sigma alarm fobs and Honda owners manual will be included. I have a folder full of receipts dating back to 1995 & for all the work carried out and parts purchased that are listed below. You could spend hours filtering through it. I have lots of history basically from the day the car was purchased including the original invoice of the car for an amount of £13420.50, all old tax discs and every past MOT certificate which will be included. I have full dealer service history for this car upto 40k but that is irrelevant now as it has undergone an engine swap.

Below is a huge list of the modifications carried out on the car:

I'm going to list some bad points now and I like to be as transparent as possible to ensure that the first to see, really will buy. Bad points are (which every car has a few):
Front splitter has suffered from stone chips due to the car being low from the front
Slight crunch in to 5th gear at high RPM’s otherwise selects fine (Common problem)

That's it for the bad. The car looks stunning, apart from a couple of exceptions listed above. This car is 19 years old now so please don't expect it to be an immaculate car from a showroom. I rather be honest and list the above to save my time and your time from being wasted.

The engine idles spot on, it does not overheat and is free of any oil or coolant leaks and does not smoke/rattle or burn any oil or coolant. I haven't once had to top up the oil. Vtec kicks in spot on @ 5000rpm and is problem free right through to redline. Gear changes are nice and smooth, Clutch is nice and responsive. Brakes are nice and sharp, stopping the car in a straight line without any heavy steering wheel wobbles, pedal judders, or undue noises. The exhaust system is gas tight. Seat bolsters are in good shape – driver’s seat 8/10 condition. All bushes are in perfect shape and all electrics on the car are working fine. Suspension is spot on not too stiff and not too soft just perfect – sits nicely. Always warmed up and ran on Shell V-Power, runs beautifully and is extremely reliable and fun to drive, goes straight as an arrow and has no strange noises. Good mpg can be achieved if driven sensibly.

This car has over £8k spent on it. No expense has been spared. A lot time and effort has gone into this project and I will not let it go for peanuts. These cars are becoming rare especially in this condition. Majority of the components in this car has either been uprated or replaced with OEM parts so will go for years to come. All bolts have been torqued down to spec and no corners have been cut. I have changed the car from an Automatic to a Manual transmission on the v5. The engine has not been declared and still remains registered as a 1.5 lsi – I will leave the responsibility with the new owner to declare engine changes.

Standard parts will be included with the car and a box of spares as they are no good to me. I will include a Haynes work shop manual and I have a collection of photos covering the full build process which I will include on a CD. I will include the dyno print out to back up the power its pushing. I will also include the print out for the ¼ mile times this car did on Banzai day @ Crail Raceway on May 25th 2014 (times also available on Crail’s website). This was the fastest FWD N/A of the day achieving 13.87 @ 102mph down the strip. Overall 6th fastest FWD car when combined with other Turbocharged FWD jap cars. This is a quick car which can easily achieve speeds of 165mph. It has never been round a track as it was not built for this purpose.

With it being a light weight car it is unbelievably quick. If you've driven a Honda Accord Type R or JDM Honda Prelude 2.2 vti you will know how quick the H22A’s are, but this engine is now in a car with a massive reduction in weight. When the Vtec kicks in this thing is away. This car is very quick and will leave quite a few big cars standing. I have had many Civics before in the past and loved every minute of owning them but none of them come close in comparison to this. This IMO is probably one of the best examples in the UK. As you can see from the photos it is in good all round condition, on top of this it drives exceptionally well, must say it goes like a rocket, it definitely isn't for the faint hearted!

I am selling this as I require a practical car that I can use on day to day basis. I will be VERY sad to see this car going and will probably regret the decision for many years to come. Any inspection is more than welcome. If you have any questions feel free to ask me on the number provided or email me. I am limited to the number of pictures that I can upload so if you would like to see more, please message me.

Lastly, I am in no rush to sell so please don’t bother making any silly offers as you will most likely be ignored. If you ask me a silly question I will give you a really silly answer. Please don't contact me unless you are serious about the car and have the funds available. I will not be giving any test drives at all unless you can prove you have the funds. I know exactly what I’ve got so no dreamers please or test pilots on a day out. I’m sorry for the hard line to the genuine people viewing this but there are some time wasters out there that think the world owes them a favour so save your energy and time I will not entertain you.

I may be interested in a SWAP with cash either way. Try me…..what have you got?

Complete price (£3700)
Without Recaro front seats, bring your own seats or I can source for additional cost (£3400)
Without Rota GT3’s, on steelies (£3450)
Without Rota GT3 wheels and Recaro front seats, on steelies (£3200)

Taking everything into consideration I think the price is pretty fair. However, I am open to SENSIBLE offers. Contact number: 07545062541 - (Wasim) No withheld numbers will be answered. If contacting by phone – please ring after 5.30pm as I am at work Mon-Fri.

Car is located in Glasgow, Scotland.

Very nice car indeed. Good luck with the sale.
I think you are making a mistake though by leaving it registered as a 1.5. Might make for cheap insurance, but I doubt you are actually insured. I would think any cover is invalidated.

This. The insurance is invalid, and they wouldn't pay out in an accident.

Nice car though, GLWTS.

Also, I'm sure insurance companies don't pick up the cc of a vehicle from the DVLA database because it's full of errors (anyone can put any figure down). Insurers go off the manufacturers figures for the relevant model, so updating the DVLA registration won't make any difference to what an insurance company sees anyway.
