5th gen “VENTED” leather seats

Post by davey80y » Sun Jun 08, 2014 3:59 pm

Now I know we all like rare bits for our preludes so here something for the serious collector.....

These are black 5th gen “Vented” seats... I've done some extensive research, in the pub, on these and I have come to the conclusion that these are a direct result of work carried out by Senna in 1998 as a follow up to the NSX. The guy in the pub that I was talking to knows for a fact the these are maybe based on the aerodynamic design of Senna’s fly, conceivably in a pair of his trousers that he could have worn once and that they perhaps incorporated this into the design of these seats....

as there's no zip/buttons on this design of “ Senna fly” or “sly” as it was presumably perhaps maybe known within Honda I can only presume that these are a leaked prototype???

you’ll note that only the front seats are of this design I can only assume this is because he couldn't be arsed to do the rear seats.... although I cant seem to find any information as to what he was up to in 1998?!?!?

my home hasn't recently been on fire so these are from a smoke and also happily disease free home so no nasty smells or infections!!

well times come to put this rare bit of Honda history up for sale so anyone wanna them for £50??

(these are genuinely for sale collection only from chesterfield! please don't ask me to post as I've run out of stamps!)

Not quite a 'max power' calibre ad - but still rates quite highly.
For anyone looking for a set of leather seats I would say that these are going to be quite easily repaired to a reasonable standard. My drivers seat was 'vented' to a similar fashion and I managed to get it 90% sorted thanks to an ebay kit. Only reason mine isn't 100% is that I have grey seats and haven't been able to match the colour perfectly.
