tools dont last as long in the hands of visionaries like me.

I have about 6 hammers.

I've always had very limited success with those bolt removers. Same as 'easy out's' - I'd go for drilling out and re-tapping every time!

I bought the halfords 3/8 18 peice set a while back and its been fantastic. i paid 15 quid for it but even at 20 its a steal. guaranteed for life too.

I bought a 1/4 set years back and managed to mash up the end of the extension bar and the seat of the 10mm socket, took them in not long ago and asked for replacements, the chap asked if i had a recipt, i said "no but they are halfords branded, not like i would have bought them anywhere else!" he agreed and handed over a new socket and extension bar!

Ok well I need to buy a new socket set as mines drokked, I want one that will last any ideas please? Quality but not a bank breaker

long or short? short are good for small gaps, long are good when there is a lot of thread...

3/8 or 1/2? how much torque do you need?

if its just for the honda make sure you get hex and not dec, easy way to round off bolts if you not using hex on em.

1/4 set really only good for 8mm & 12mm

dont use those 3/8 to 1/4 adapters for above 14mm cuz they can snap like this one didnt even last a day and i cant believe i was stupid to do it, but then it was taking a bolt off a pajero,

3/8 for 10-17 mm

i pretty much use 1/2 all the time from 10mm up with an extendable ratchet or gun, then depending on angle, how far away is the bolt, how much space do you have, how many cuts on your knuckles do you wanna get that day

the fat stig on ebay has split some blue point tool sets up, so if you dont mind spending £30 on some quality sockets, i would advise that cuz im thinking about it.

i think the long set are alright for the 3/8 drive.
