Absolutely correct - I agree with that entirely! (and put my money where my mouth is, going up and telling the DJ they're clipping etc.)

i used to have a magic box. you plugged the monitor into it and set the DB level at clip. if they went over it the box would start delaying their monitor feed

either that or turn it down in relation to their abuse.

Made for some hillarity i can tell you. Mr bigshot DJ suddenly looks like a drokking munky infront of all is friends.

I have also paid big guys in our group a slab of stella to stand behind the decks with a cricket bat. The DJ is made aware his job is to hit him if he pushes the levels. This has worked wonders when you have open decks at a rave etc.
