My wing turned up from Germany yesterday. It's just an OEM EF wing but I mainly bought it to see what modification is involved to make it fit before I buy a bigger and better one - there's not really anything available just for the Aerodeck unfortunately so everything is pretty much buy something for something else and make it fit...

I realise everything I'm doing to this car isn't to everyones tastes but I have always had a soft spot for the Bosozoku and Zokusha trends in Japan - really mental stuff that somehow pulls it off. I just hope mine pulls off the less mental stuff that I have planned....

I'd considered an EF wing when I had mine. It'd be good to see how it pans out at last :D

That wing will look fantastic Becca. Fitting it to a tailgate with all that glass will be challenging though.

Yeah will have to see how it goes... It's looking to be an inch too narrow for the car right now :(

May be an option to remould it with fibreglass and then have a custom carbon fibre one made from that.

There's the bar in between the tailgate and roof windows but I don't know how much of it is glass :/

It'd be simple enough to chop it in half and fill in the gap wouldn't it?

Wouldn't it look better to chop it in half and not fill the gap? Adding extra legs as required, obviously. I like the idea

Yah, but the problem is I bought this so I could know if I could fit a bigger, better, more expensive wing that fits over the top of an OEM one.

So my options are either:

Widen it, then widen the expensive bigger one too which could prove harder.

Or

Widen just this one, mould it to the shape and depth I want (a lot deeper!) and then have it moulded out of carbon fibre completely custom... Because I doubt my one will be perfect if I've moulded it myself

This is the style it'll eventually be:

You can affix the spoiler to the glass itself with a type of double sided super sticky foam tape. I've used that to stick spoilers on glass rear hatches before, and a lot of cars will come with that as standard. I pulled the spoiler from the track Almera GTi to see how it would fit up to the Aerodeck, and that just had 2x M6 bolts and that sticky foam tape stuff, and it took me and a mate to try and pry and lift the spoiler off.

^^^ this.

Glazing security tape. Maybe a bolt or two as Crazy said just for that peace of mind.
