Hey @Donald I've been doing a bit more newt hunting today I've spotted at least 10 in there problem is it's covered in duck weed Lilly pads and other vegetation, still don't think I've spotted a great crested yet, here's the pond and you can see why I would like to move it,

I'm trying not to disturb them too much, I'd like to build a new pond to move all this wildlife to there's loads of frogs and I've been out with the kids today watching loads of dragon flies laying eggs as well.
Might see if I can get some help in designing the pond and surrounding area for them.

Yeah they're definitely smooth newts. You'd know a great crested and they are pretty uncommon tbh.

Yeah I can why you'd want to move that, ruins the flow of the garden!

I've got 2 kids mate jakes 1 and Zara 3 it's right in the middle of there playground and 1 of Zara's friends already fell in it, I've got a nice spot for it to go and probably be bigger as well and more natural looking, you can see that pond on google earth lol

 A triangle pond in a triangle garden - too much!

If I was going to relocate it it would be to where the greenhouse is, but that's just me. Plus the more out of the way it is the less likely your kids are to fall in it probably

Ideally you'd want the new pond prepped fully (as in settled and all that) you don't want to fill it with water and all the other gubbins and straight away dump the wildlife in there, but then you'd have two ponds on the go and for the new set up to properly settle will take a few weeks.

As I said before smooth newts are not habitat protected so really you can just turf them out.
