If it's only damaged his bumper, nothing else, that's a £500 job for any decent bodyshop, max. Even if you went to Audi to be ripped off, that's £1000 and no more in my book?

Why would you ever spend that much? PLUS repairing your own car.

Surely it wont increase your premium by that amount spread over the next 5 years?
That was my thought as well mate.

Sorry Mick, didn't mean to come off as being funny - if it came across that way. Just was trying to talk through the most logical and economical solution.

What's actually wrong with your bumper? Just the paint? Or has it cracked?

Replacement here anyway for a reasonable price I guess. Messaged the seller this morning about it but like the majority of eBayers they didn't actually answer my questions and instead gave me an answer to a question they thought was better. So "it needs painting probably". No idea if it's Flamenco or Nighthawk (even told them how to tell them apart) and no higher resolution pictures to actually judge how bad the paint is. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HONDA-PRELUDE ... 27e3eb3953

Was gona say my mrs scuffed a merc ml350 08 and smashed a reflector, deep scratch to the bumper. Filled and sprayed and reflector/indicator replaced was £350 all in and that was through the insurance. Would suggest trying to sway him away from insurance and get a couple of independant quotes of your own...

Yeah, at 500 for an independent bodyshop, I was including replacing the bumper.

AKA, let's milk it for all we can get. Half the time people get the symptoms they want/think they should have. ;)

Best of luck with it. :(
