Re: W1GGZ BB4 Track Lude paint and brakes update
Yeah I'm really happy with the coilovers they have made a massive difference to the handling just need to find the right setup on the stiffness which will probably be done best at a trackday

W1GGZ BB4 Track Lude paint and brakes update
Ok here the last update for the moment, as your all aware I've been collecting parts for the 5 stud conversion so I could easily fit the ATR brake setup.
Now last week I swapped work with my business partner so he went to our clevedon base and I went to Portishead, the guys in the garage were quite so I thought I'd get them to swap the hubs for me, much easier!
So here's a few pics
The pile of parts required

Front and rear hubs from 5th gen new front anti roll bar links, new hub nuts, new rear discs, ATR front calipers, carriers, discs and pads and some more racing brake fluid

.
I've decided I didn't want to stay with black wheels tho so I resprayed them today in ford petrol blue. They change colour depending what angle you look at them and I think ill use this colour on a few other little bits.

.
I'll get some better pictures tomorrow.
The brakes are a massive improvement over the standard Ludes I've gone with greenstuff pads as I got them cheap from the garage at £40 as they have had them in stock for a while.
Just got to save up for my track tyres to go on the Rotas and I'll be nearly ready to head back out, next up a bit of a service new plugs and leads.
Loving this car

Re: W1GGZ BB4 Track Lude ATR Brakes & Motegi wheels
Funny you should say that Merlin when I put the wheels back on last night I noticed a bit of play in the hub area as the guy in the garage reckoned it was fine without the spacers but looks like he was wrong so I'm on the hunt for the right bits for this now. It's not the bearings as I have no noises just a mm or so wobble.
I only put the green stuff in as they were cheap I've got another set of pads to take as spares.

So long as you can get the hub nut off it should only take an hour or so to sort. I hate hub nutsW1ggz wrote:Funny you should say that Merlin when I put the wheels back on last night I noticed a bit of play in the hub area as the guy in the garage reckoned it was fine without the spacers but looks like he was wrong so I'm on the hunt for the right bits for this now.
