Re: Ratty's Type S - Positive Displacement pumped
Im not finished with it yet.
Im not 100% happy with it.
I dont know the fly power due to it being a hub dyno. Thor Racing remapped the Greddy.
The supercharger has added so many more new noises that im mistaking as bad. Such as pulley noises, rotor noises specially when its hot and alot of vacuum noises.
at idle IAT are at 50deg C, cruising around 55-60 and on boost/after boost they can hit as high as 75deg C
.
So i need to either charge cool and water/meth injection.
I still need to wrap the header and i might put the OEM Type S intake back on so it draws cold air in and help a few degrees.
The charger does not change the character of the engine either. VTEC is absolutely insane and really screams and the crossover is very aggressive.
Its just like a normal H22 but with bags more torque before VTEC and more power up top. VTEC and the rev limiter as kepts as stock.
But you cannot hit the thottle in any gear and go oike some diesels still. Its still needs to build up boost so torque doesnt really come in until 2.5k.
Also can someone give me their opinion.
On WOT between 3k and stock VTEC crossover A/F ratios are around 14.7 to 13.8 and then go to 12.5 and 11.8 @7000rpm when in VTEC. Is that a little lean in the midrange especially when im at 8.4psi then. In VTEC its fine and im at 6.3psi then.
Also when maintianing high speed like 70mph or 80/90mph on the motorway the A/F ratios lean out to as much as 20.1 when im almost off throttle but not and heading downhill or a flat level motorway. When the road inclines a bit and i touch the throttle a little harder the A/F hit 14.7ish.
Cold start is body lemonade poor too. Very lean and jumpy until its warmed up but cold start is difficult to tune on piggy back. I usually wait 2mins at idle and wait for it to warm up.

i honestly think you need to go full standalone buddy it sounds like the ecu is fighting with the greddy as modern engines and ecu's always lean out if your driving along and take your foot off the throttle the engine uses almost no fuel at all so it would make sense that the ratios would lean out until you touched the throttle again

Re: Ratty's Type S - Positive Displacement pumped
They way it works is. the tuner got the Greddy to get a good balance with the Stock ECU. When i unplug the battery and start again the tuner said it will take a fair few miles before it becomes balanced again and might run rough.mercutio wrote:i honestly think you need to go full standalone buddy it sounds like the ecu is fighting with the greddy as modern engines and ecu's always lean out if your driving along and take your foot off the throttle the engine uses almost no fuel at all so it would make sense that the ratios would lean out until you touched the throttle again
Also if it does sway the tune said we can change the stock o2 sensor to a modifyed one so it fools the stock ECU into thinking the engine is running perfect fuel ratios all the time and let the greddy do everything else via my wideband.
