Like a Go Pro, but only £70. Quality isn't far off a GP, and all the GP mounts fit :D
Ok, I'll keep that in mind, sounds like an idea :D

Well guys. Didn't even have to dismantle anything. Just got our stethoscope out and had a good listen around :?. Water pump is quiet.
We are pretty sure that the oil pump has had it. £317 to me for a genuine one . So now im in a bit of a dilemma :( one problem after another with this thing.

Also cambelt/balancer belt tensioner pulley bearings are very noisy. Oh well, almost had enough of this thing atm :(. Am still going to check the tension of the cambelt on Saturday anyway but i am pretty sure its the end of the line for this motor.

That is a total bugger if it is the oil pump. Do you have a pressure gauge you could hook up?

No we don't have one here. I haven't seen an oil light on yet but that don't mean jobby . Whatever it is, the noise is most clear and loud when i stethoscope the oil pump housing :?

if it is the oil pump - at the same price for a replacement genuine one you may as well drop in a replacement engine, h22's are pretty common and cheap at the moment ;) maybe even rebuild the replacement with new seals etc., get it port and polished and have yourself a spanking h22 motor 8-)

Yea this is what i am thinking Drax . I am gna get the covers off Saturday after work, atleast i will be able to use the ramp. Check everything and have another listen with the belt covers off :? Hopefully narrow it down a bit more. If it is the pump, i think i will use it in August for the track session and then pull the motor for a swap.

Has anyone used non gen oil pumps? I do see a few around, or you think it would not cope :?

I'd be tempted to go for an non OEM pump if the engine appears ok, just checked on ebay, £66 delivered inc importcharges from the USA. Or there is a second hand OEM one on ebay uk for £55.

Ok cool, will be getting a non gen pump if it is that. Just had my master tech have a listen and he seems to think it sounds like a loose cam belt, which it could be tbh :?
