Oh right, I've got jdm p13 with sleepy chip. Adjusted/advanced the timing a few days ago. Checked after a run on the day and yesterday and it's still on what I set it too??Merlin wrote:@GreenyUKGreenyUK wrote:You have to short the service connector? Why is this
I set my timing on my 4thG so obd1 and it's been fine?
When using an OEM ECU you have to short the service connector in order to set the base timing, this stops any interference from the ECU. The ECU then uses the base timing to advance/retard timing for different revs. If you did not short the connector your timing will be set wrong so you need to do it again.

I/we reset the timing on Vanzep's and Indigolemon's cars and it made a big difference to both.

Very similar to what phil's old set up was except he had a fully programable ECU. He hit 228 http://preludeuk.forumup.com/viewtopic. ... =preludeukW1ggz wrote:Just to hi jack this thread a little what would I be expecting to see on my engine, h22a I've got ATR inlet with s2000 port matched throttle body, type s cams, fujitsubu manifold mated to solid fabs decat back and merlins old reprogramable ecu.
