Well usually when people do fit half rads to cool a H22 its twice as thick than a stock rad

One life, LIVE IT! Get VTEC, LOVE it. Drive a Honda and ENJOY it.

Yeah, capacity is important - most noticeably it affects the latency of the system.
Smaller capacity = much quicker change in temperature, so your system will be thermally cycling much faster than designed.
Doubling the core capacity of the rad can counter that, depends if the tank sizes actually also double or not.
Either way, a narrower (but thicker) rad will still be less efficient than a wider, thinner one. All about the effective surface area. 'init' (as someone else on here might say...)

There is an H22a7 Civic that is running in the NA section of UK Time Attack. https://www.facebook.com/Backyardcivics I wonder if he will be at Knockhill on the 25th.

Yep, I'm not surprised - I was saying that a half width one that's twice as thick, will be less efficient than the standard oneMerlin wrote: I run a stock rad on my 4th gen and have never had cooling issues.

Damn that thing looks mean!Merlin wrote:There is an H22a7 Civic that is running in the NA section of UK Time Attack. https://www.facebook.com/Backyardcivics I wonder if he will be at Knockhill on the 25th.

I've always fancied a little EG or EK with a H22 in. Thought about it before with a spare H22A sitting in the garage. Fun little cars.
