My new (old) Rover 623

Banter goes here, and doesn't have to be Lude related

I would say change engine loom for prelude one and chuck the lump back into engine bay. Should be OK.
You can also compare both looms and if they're the same then don't bother with swaping them over. It will save you some time ;)

That was my fault...
I said because the Rover is so good, after he's raped it for his lude, he should stick an H22 back in the Rover (either for some fun himself, or to sell it on!) :D

Would be 8-)

No rover ever came with Vtec. the 600 is mostly an accord underneath anyways, so i bet you'll have far less trouble than you think with the wiring.

had a 620ti (2litre turbo rover engine) was a nice car. thinking about it, a 2 litre turbo engine would suit the lude better than the h22a5/a8 . prelude isnt sporty enough to be a screamer, and being quite heavy would get on better with a torquier lump...

i recall someone on rovertech put a h22 vtec in a rover 620 once...

The chocolate rover turbo or a reliable h22, no compromise.

Hope the swap goes as planned bud.

lol, knew id get some stick from that :P the rover engine is pretty reliable, just not as reliable as the honda.

the prelude is quite big and heavy in my eyes (its no integra type R type affair from my perception in concept).

Don't get me wrong, im loving the prelude, but the only way to get fun out of it is in vtec (this means lots of noise, 40mph in 2nd, 60mph in 3rd, etc, which passengers do not appreciate).

in comparrison, the 620ti (turbo edition of the above) would pull much better , especially if you removed the boost modulator. i think it'd suit the prelude a little better, as its pretty comfortable. V6 prelude is a nice idea.

dude i have looked into most engine swaps and the v6 engine is over 100kg heavier than the h22 and it also sits quite far forward in its transverse configuration so the handling would be drokked.
The integra while being a nice car is exactly the same as the lude your describing as its absolutely useless outside of vtec you don't see anyone praising the torque of civic's or integra's.
if a lude was treated by Honda in the same way as the type r civics or integra's the weight wouldn't be an issue
