Manual tensioner just needs re-tensioning?
It is completely possible as all I have given it is death since getting it roadworthy   (I hope its this)

I had a whirring noise that faded in and out. Took it to Rich at PAW for a cambelt change, and he found this was the cause. Showed my the pump afterwards, the pulley had about 5mm movement either way
But to be honest, I am half expecting it to be the water pump. £33 for a pump does seem a bit monkey metalish to me :? :?. I should of put a genuine pump in but just couldn't afford it at the time.

Will see tomorrow as will have to remove the belts to check everything anyway. Just what I need hey

@Gayno How old was your pump? Was it a newish one or just as old as the motor?

Umm, I believe @confused fitted it when he rebuilt the car in 2007. Had covered approx 40k.

Yeah I'm pretty certain I'd have fitted a new water pump when the engine went in - certainly it had a new auto-tensioner and cam belt, and I usually change water pump whilst I'm in there, it's not worth not doing whilst you've got everything apart.

Congrats on getting the car finished and out on track. It looked like you were having some fun. Total bummer you are having some issue now though. Keep the faith and the car will come back stronger!

I'm going to be getting an SJ4000 at the end of the month if funds are left over.

Like a Go Pro, but only £70. Quality isn't far off a GP, and all the GP mounts fit :D
