Banter goes here, and doesn't have to be Lude related

Well, as both engines will be H23 the worst thing would be that Rover used Rover only plugs maybe? But yeah, the engine loom as far as the connectors in the top right.

I have no experience of swap like these but wont there be some variation in the inside loom to the ECU? For VTEC engagement for example? I suppose you will know much better than me as your car once had the H23.

Sorry man, I think I see the confusion. The Rover is donating it's H23 engine to the Prelude as a replacement for the Preludes knackered H23. No VTEC involved (sadly  ).

Nope - no vtec..
and the electrics are the bit that gives me sleepless nights.
I assumed the ECU and wiring harness would have to be swapped - although to be honest, I kinda hoped that I wouldn't have to do that as well!

Nah man, ECU can stay where it is. The loom splits at some handy plugs next to the passenger side strut top, unplug those and the engine is DC'd from the car :)

Wait, what?
I can keep the ECU in my 'lude, and just plug engine harness from the Rover straight in?

I'm hoping so! However, if the plugs are different, and while both engines are out, swap the harnesses between them, then whap the new engine in. Should make it body lemonade easy.

Fair enough - I'd like keep as much of the 'lude as possible - probably makes no odds, but.. well y'know.. ;)
