I'm not a scotch man (prefer bourbon) but there's nowt wrong with using decent spirits for a cocktail.

yeah if you fancy the cocktail then use the best stuff you can afford blended whisky has its place and its normally in a brown paper bag

9 times out of 10, you can't tell if good whisky or bad whisky has been served in a mixer.

That said, if you're not big on Scotch, no point buying another bottle just so those ones can sit on the shelf.
