Better that than a new engine bud, if that gets in there its likely you will end up needing a full rebuild or a replacement.

You will be fine with the blasted cover. Just sand it back a little and really really clean it and degrease it. Karcher pressure etc etc

I dont blast mine now though.

Want a good paint stripper.

Starchem Synstryp is what you need. Internet only. Be careful. I burn the skin immeadiately. Really burns and will strip skin.

Yeah don't breathe it in either, the stripping agent is methylene chloride and will do other damage.

mine was sandblasted around 2 years ago. I just clean it and engine is still fine. But TBH I wouldn't try this again as cleaning was really pain of arse.

So if you put a bit of effort in cleaning then you will be fine.
