Re: Another Track 4th gen - Pre JF update & Japfest in car/p

Hi guys.

So a little late putting up updates for before Japfest   But I will so just to add to the thread.

Before Japfest I fitted the cloth seats I got from @CrunchyAdams82 & @Dbo Thanks chaps :D

Gave it a clean, fitted some stickers ect. Got the sill covers back on and then went to tackle the front callipers at work.

Well I didn't get any pics of the state of the pistons and seals from the front callipers but they where the worst I had ever seen in the 8 years of doing this job :?

So Thursday eve I trekked down to Southampton again to pic up a pair of good callipers from Crunchy and Dbo again, got them fitted Friday. So again they helped me out getting the Lude to the show :D

Then here it was yesterday :D :D

So overall was well happy with how it ran to and from Japfest, and around the track too. :D 8-) Engine was pulling hard right up to red line and hitting 125mph up past the start finish/track entry 8-)

There is, however a few things to improve on. I have to get the front Polly bush set fitted and get the 4wheel alignment done as it was a bit scatty. I need decent tyres and to sort some better brakes out.

So on to spending more money on it as now I am hooked on track and want more :D :) :P Going to be seeing much more track time this year.

MASSIVE THANKS to all that helped me out to get this car as it is now and to the show, I really couldn't of done it without you guys. @CrunchyAdams82 @Dbo @Paul72 @newkid @Bludge And anyone else I may of forgotten  Also thanks for the tuition from my chap Dave, Top bloke. :D :D
Also great job To the chaps organising it and sorting tickets out ect @Gayno

8-) :D :)

Cheers for a great day guys. Really enjoying the forum and the car so far
Cheers

Great videos mate. Really was quite an experience. :D

Still, lots more to come, & lots more £££'s to be spent. ;)

Looking forward to the next one!

Brakes, tyres, and strut braces..that's where my money needs to go.

I didn't see your car on the track, as I was on the other side of the track but did look great on the video and it;s got good information for anyone going on the track in the future. 8-) 8-)

It was much nicer then I thought. I had visions of me crashing but it was really great. Had fun as well and as I was getting the hang of it all it was time to go back. :(

Yes it was, took the longest to get used to. The start grid corner was a little hairy too :? :scaredtoss:

Work from the ground up!

Tyres, brakes, stiffer bushes, stronger/thicker ARB, then strut braces (assuming you've already done shocks/springs). If you want to be serious there's little point stiffening the top or end of the suspension line when most of the energy going into it can dissipate before it even reaches the top.

Think of it like building a cheesecake, you don't put the pastry crust on top of the soft topping.

Good on you chap. Well done for getting through it and just having a go at it. TBH I was pretty nervous too :? And then to top it off I had realised that I hadn't put half the bloody padding back in my helmet    Much uncomfortableness
