Rocker Cover and Strut Brace

February 2009

I bought a Feels strut brace and a flaky second-hand rocker cover. I had the brace’s feet and the cover powder-coated in metallic blue.









All new gaskets and seals for refitting the rocker cover.

  Breather Grommet: Honda Part # 17139-P13-000

  Clear Hitachi Dizzy Cap & Rotor Arm
  NGK Platinum Spark Plugs
  Honda Fuel Filter
  Magnecor KV85 Red Ignition Leads
  Blue Samco Silicone Coolant Hoses
  Forbidden Motorsports Cooling Plate 

I also replaced all the fluids;

• Honda All Season Pre-Mixed Blue Coolant
  Castrol Response Super Dot 4 Synthetic Brake Fluid - Brakes
  Castrol Response Super Dot 4 Synthetic Brake Fluid - Clutch
  Amsoil Synthetic Manual Synchromesh Transmission Fluid (SAE 5W-30)
  Castrol Magnatec 10W-40 Semi-Synthetic Engine Oil + Honda Oil Filter
  Honda Genuine HG Power Steering Fluid
  Halfords Premium Ready Mixed Screen Wash (-8ºC Freeze Protection)

I also tidied up the ugly alternator wiring harness with a length of black conduit.







Just out of curiosity, I cut the old fuel filter open.




When I bought my FM cooling plate, I measured it up for anyone who wanted to make their own.

Oil Catch Can

June 2009

I bought an eBay special oil catch can. Surprisingly good quality.



I also bought some silicone vacuum hose for it, as it came with see-through braided stuff that just looked a bit cheap.

Clutch Slave Cylinder

My clutch system sprung a leak. I found it was coming from the slave cylinder so I ordered a new one from Honda and fitted it myself.

Refurbished My 17" OZ Superleggeras

April 2009

I bought these wheels from eBay. They were in need of a refurbishment and some new tyres.









I took them down to 'WheelWorks' to get them refurbished and painted in platinum silver.
They also supplied and fitted a set of Goodyear Eagle F1 Tyres 215/40/17









I bought some new centre caps to finish them off and some locking wheel nuts.

Refurbished My Sawblades

September 2010

I decided to refurbish my OEM sawblades to use as Winter wheels.

This picture shows 3 stages of the refurbishment.


Once the wheels were polished up, I painted between the spokes.


As these are for Winter, I had some Uniroyal RainExpert 205/55/15 tyres fitted.

Footwell Illumination

June 2009

I installed a blue LED footwell lighting kit. While I was at it, I also replaced most of the bulbs for brighter, more efficient, more colourful LEDs in the cockpit.

Swapping the yellow bulbs for white LEDs in the map light has made a huge difference.

Fixed My Speedo Needle Illumination

August 2010

My EL dials suddenly suffered a fairly common fault. The speedo needle stopped illuminating.



The dials had to come out for the fix.





This fault is due apparently, to some faulty capacitors.
The quick, easy ghetto fix is to feed the dead needle with power from the working one.
