Good man, well done for getting through it. Look forward to seeing the car at a show :D

 Not sure on the misfire/running rich...
I would focus on the misfire first though, all the obvious things... Plugs, leads, distributor, coil, pickup sensors etc. then look at running rich.

How do you know it's running rich?

yeah, i got new dizzy cap, new rotor and some new HT leads made up. Where are the pickup sensors lol? are they all over the place?
the Plugs are fairly new but il change them anyway, put some more standard ones in until its running good then il get some decent ones :P
When i had it running i turned it off and checked the plugs and they were black and stank of fuel, cleaned em up did it again, held the revs at about 2-2.5k for a few mins to try and flush it out checked again and it was still the same :/
I think first il set the adjustable pulley back to 4 degrees advance then start playing around, il put the old dizzy cap n rotor on see if that makes much difference

Could the fuel be a part of the issue? its 97 octane and its been sitting for well over a month now? i might try some fuel treatment hope that helps :)

Hope so lol, do you think if I give it a drive it'll get rid of the 3k rpm limit it seems to have developed lol?

Lol bit embarrassing, found the issue, I had been using the wrong timing Mark so the pulleys were 3 teeth out

Put it all back right and runs sweet! :D so happy! I'm sure the neighbours were too ;)

Now it's just a wait for coilovers then it can all go back together... Yay!! XD

Going to get some new plugs, shall I stick with standard ones or get something a bit better?

If it's not going to cost too much I'm going to get the rocker cover redone and the Honda badge sprayed a champagne colour :P got loads of counter sunk washers n screws that colour so hopefully engine will look good :D
Can the rocker go in the dishwasher and be ok? I don't want it to go rusty but I think it's alley so should be ok :)@

Pics will be up soon !

Pics?
Some grey/white crusty depositing is absolutely normal - it's a sign of correct mixture etc.

If there's large amounts of white deposits on the spark plugs it can be an indicator of oil entering the combustion chamber. My Civic is burning oil and there were large deposits of white crusty jobby all over the plugs:
