De-cat pipe 39.5cm
Post by Ailfenergy » Tue Apr 29, 2014 10:18 pm
I'm looking for a pipe to fit instead of the cat. I've got UKDM BB8, but UKDM downpipe didn't fit. I had to purchase the import one. However, even import one had to be slightly modified to fit my exhaust. I've got DC Sport exhaust manifold, GReddy backbox, and I presume standard cat. If UK downpipe was too short I assume I need the de-cat pipe which is the same lenght as import cat? Have you got any suggestions?

Well if you have a '00 manual and presuming it was originally the OEM exhaust fitted and you've replaced everything other than the cat, the cat will be 395mm long and you'll need a custom decat. You'll be lucky to find one for sale.
If it's all fitted to the car and sits how you want, get underneath and just measure the cat to double check? Then you'll know the exact length decat you need.

I was going to say these days, what with all the swapping and changing, it's always safer to measure what length of Cat you require to be sure.

I'll try to do that today.
I bought the car like this. The only thing I replaced was a downpipe, because it fell apart.

40cm that is.
My EuDM Lude has some sort of decat on it. In theory ATTS Lude should have an import exhaust? I'm gonna try to fit that (decat part) to my UKDM Lude tomorrow.

That'll be a 39.5cm one then.
Unfortunately the Type-S is supposedly the shortest Cat at 25.5cm and other JDM's are only 1cm longer.

Is it hard thing to find? All ebay ones are 34.5cm. Any other places to look at?

I decided to measure the decat pipe on my EuDM VTi-S anyway. Apparently it is 34.5cm ishNafemanNathan wrote:That'll be a 39.5cm one then.
