Another Track 4th gen - Problems :(

Post by Thebusofwoe » Sun Apr 27, 2014 6:33 pm

Hi guys.

Well Friday night i got the lude running sweet, bled up the coolant, checks for oil leaks, set the ignition timing ect. Rolled it out of the drive for the first time in like 7 months  .
Drove it a total of .2 of a mile and it died on me, right outside my flat :(. Went to give it some vtec, as soon as it sniffed vtec the gauges went crazy, dials died, lights dimming and going bright, missfire, then dead. So opened up bonnet to find smoke bellowing out of the alternator.

Well to cut a long story short, the drokking thing must of massively overcharged and then also killed the battery. We tryed another battery but as soon as it started the back of the alt starts glowing red. So by this point its almost 1am, im tired and royally pissed off.

So on the hunt for an alternator i went to get a couple off of @Bludge (massive thanks to you chap), got home with another battery and fitted it all. Cranking lovely, firing well not so lovely.
so now i am even more drokked off and about ready to burn the whole drokking car out.
I suspect that the massive voltage/amperage spike has also killed either a fuse, dizzy or/and ECU :(. So i will be doing my best to get this running for japfest but cant guarantee anything as it seems it doesn't want to go.

Re: Another Track 4th gen - IT FECKING LIVES :)

Post by Thebusofwoe » Tue Apr 29, 2014 11:25 pm

Right guys. I am totally over the drokking moon, In fact I am over the drokking Mars  . The old difficult girl lives :D :D  :vtec: :jdm:.

So to begin with, I have to give a MASSIVE shout out and thank you too @Bludge for the alternator, donor ecu and seats, @Paul72 For the dizzy and cap :D And anyone else that helped out by looking for parts ect.

That drokking alternator took out itself, the battery and the dizzy all in one hit . Took her for a drive and feck me, shes fast (compared to what I am used to anyway  ). Need to get the tracking done, fix the drivers window and do a few other little things but she runs great and pulls like a train :D :D So im a happy bunny.

Anyway here is some pics as she is now, Still got to put the sill covers on and we are fitting the stainless exhaust system on weekend :D
