Thing is, I don't like the blatant asymmetric tread pattern on them

Looking on tyrereviews.co.uk the Vredestein Sportrac 5 come in even better, and there's very little price difference.

have you not thought of just swapping your tires over so the other side gets worn down or sorting your camber out? swap em over and get another few thou out of them. its only the middle that has to have tread on it....

I was surprised they weren't handed to be honest.

Yeah I phoned up Uniroyal UK to make sure that I was going to fit the tyres correctly. I prefer the RS3 over the RS2 as there is less road noise. The grip in all conditions is great.

It says "inside" on them, so I assume that is what you work by, but you'd think foward rotation would be what mattered.

Yup that is what had me confused. You would thing that the half "V" shape pushes water to the outside of the tyre and if reversed it would pull water into the middle of the tyre. Although Uniroyal says different. I certainly haven't lost any grip and I have driven through some pretty wet roads since fitting them.

Also on what other tyre do you get little sharks

Yes, I did consider that. However they are now 4 and half years old, and you can see the rubber on the sidewalls and in the tread starting to perish, so they're getting on.

Also with the long trip ahead I'd feel more comfortable with new rubber on, as the edge that's worn I can't see it being much longer until it's through to the cords, which is the last thing I want in the middle of France!

I use Toyo T1rs and they are pretty grippy tbh always used them on all my cars, had the RS2's at one point but went back to the t1rs, also a lot cheaper most of the time.
I dont like any of the falken tyres found them to be rubbish in the wet and Greenock is probably one of the wettest places to live
Did get a second hand set of alloys with yokohama parada spec 2s on them which were awesome :)

I have RE050As at the moment. No complaints, bit noisy but overall I rate them.
