Used to have Yokohama Advan Sport - Great in the dry, average in the wet and a bit snappy, noisy like a 747.
Now Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymetric - Excellent wet and dry, quite progressive, good feel.
This thread comes up 5 times a year - I have done one myself. Should we have some sort of Sticky?

If you're throwing R888's in the mix, that's heading more to weekends/summer/Track Fun too! I have some A048s to try when my car is on the road.mart609 wrote:Depends Adam.
If its your daily. go for something like the rainsports or T1r's
If its just for weekends/summer/ go for the AD08's or R888's

Thanks guys,
Mart, as you know my car isn't used daily, and only on the road for 7/8 months a year so am looking for summer specific tyres. However, I don't really do any trackdays, just a couple of Racewars events.
However, due to the lack of use my car gets, and the camber I have, I can't justify spending £100+ on the AD08s (even though they are gtting great reviews) as I'll have to chuck them when most of the central tread is still there which would be a waste
Also, as I'm replacing all 4, my budget at the moment can't stretch to ~£450 for the AD08s!!
Think I'm leaning back towards a normal road tyre, as opposed to a track focussed one.

I got 4 ad08s for 100 delivered. Granted they have 4mm of tread left but at least I know now I can't use wider tyres.

Like wise I got 4 used A048''s for £100 delivered. It's not like you'll run down the tread quickly if it's your summer blast.

Further researching today, has again pushed me back towards a road tyre, and looking like the Rainsport 3.
As a majority of my driving is on the motorway going to shows, camping, etc, the increased road noise and harshness of the trackday tyres is a deal breaker for me.
The rainsport 3 have great reviews and are within budget.

I was going to suggest Rainsport 3's. Had four 215/45r17's delivered for £274 from Camskills the other day. If they're as good as Rainsport 2's (And they're supposedly better) then I'm well happy
