clutch pedal on floor

My first prelude...bought around 3 weeks ago....car has been great....did over 400 mile round lakes over weekend...car was fine last nite...came out this morning..clutch pedal on floor..cant engage gears...is this full clutch replacement..master cylinder..slave cylinder or something more simple and an easy fix...hoping for the latter..

in my experience, it'll be the master or the slave...

you can normally see which by seeing which one is weeping fluid.

You might get by with a bit of fresh fluid/re-bleed, but only as a get you home method, not to be relied upon.

If the car hasnt been used in a long time the seals can perish.

check all around the clutch pedal for fluid
check the clutch reservoir which is the small one next to the brake fluid reservoir
if its empty top it up and pump the pedal by hand and check for fluid seepage from the firewall-pedal
if you get pressure again, open the bleed nipple near the clutch slave right at the front of the engine and bleed the system.

check again over the next few days for a wet clutch pedal and surrounding area, its most probably the master

Ain't had chance to look at it as had to go work...dark wen I got home...car gets used daily..wot sort of money to replace cylinders and are they easy to get.

I need to replace my master clutch cylinder so I'll post my question here to avoid making a new topic :

Where to find a master clutch cylinder at a decent price ?

Ho and Striker, check if your circuit is not opened. I've never seen this happening but may be it worths checking before buying anything.

They are around fifty sixty quid on eBay. my slave cylinder went and I bought mine off eBay for 36 but master is a bit more expensive.

I had the same problem a few months ago, replacing the part should be pretty straight forward. The bleeding the system part is what got me frustrated. But after a lot of reading on the interwebs I found out about a method and did a write up on how to do it. Makes it an easy one man job

Ho and dont forget to adjust it properly, it may destroy your clutch.
