ABS and 4WS fault codes

Post by Ailfenergy » Sun Apr 20, 2014 4:17 pm

ABS

15 - Wheel Sensor: RR (Open/Short to Body Ground/Short to Power)
81 - Central Processing Unit (CPU)

4WS

64 - Power unit

Have you got any suggestions on how to fix the problems listed above. I'm complete newbie to both ABS and 4WS, as I don't have these on my EuDM Lude (ABS was disconnected as it didn't work anyway)

The interesting thing is that these codes never came up while driving. 4WS works fine, and I haven't had a chance really to test my ABS.

Any advises are highly appreciated.

What merc says.

Test the sensor with a multimeter to confirm it's the sensor rather than the loom (99% sure it'll be the sensor) change that, reset the ECU's and than see what happens.

Sorry, I've made a mistake in the first post. 4WS code should read 64 not 81 - Power unit.

Thanks for advice though.

Is there any difference in ABS sensors between 4WS and non-4WS cars? 2.0 and 2.2? 4th gen and 5th gen?

Thanks :)

Sensors are different between 4th and 5th gen in how they mount, engine shouldn't make a difference.

Yeah, I have posted up about swapping brackets before but that was left/right on a 4th gen, don't know about swapping from 4th gen to 5th gen. :? Did I read a very recent post where someone has done it though?

 reminds me... (tempting fate) when I swapped the brackets over I didn't expect the sensor to last long. It's still going 2 years later :scaredtoss:
