Yeah my mum has the first edition jazz and I had a second edition jazz as a courtesy car. I thought both jazz's were better to drive than the FN2 Si I also had as a courtesy car...

Bottom line chap, buy a jazz. Will be much more reliable than the 2.0 civic. In fact, im sat in my missus jazz right now ;). Wicked car, wicked mpg and easy/cheap to run. We have a 2002 model. Awsome :D :D

The civic suffers rear calipers, clutches, and a/c compressors. We have seen a few with random srs control unit failures :? But tbh, few and far between.

The things to look out for on the jazz would be cvt clutch judder, if ur looking at a cvt. some are suffering rear wheel bearings, and the early ones with EGR valve problems, although those should be ironed out by now. And the other thing I can think of now is if the boot is full of water, then the rear gutters will be split. Apart from that they are pretty bullet proof :D :D

Another note is the 2.0ltr civic uses the first generation k20, which is actually a real reliable motor. It's just the stuff that's bolted onto the civic that's the problem  ;)

When I was buying my Prelude this was the other option. On the same day I looked at both, obviously preferred the Prelude but I wouldn't sniff at one of those either tbh.
