Anti-roll Bars?

Post by Pushki » Wed Apr 09, 2014 5:17 pm

I've just been under the car to assess fitting my new stabilizer links and noticed the rear anti-roll bar has bubbled up with rust. I'm assuming the front one is the same.

With a bit of work I could bring them back, but are there any good quality, affordable after-market ones, (4th gen)?
I'll also want to change the rubber hanger thingies. :(

I think most people find once they remove all the rust and fit new rubbers the arb becomes slack and knocks so maybe best to leave it?

As for cheap after market ones, I've never seen any I'd call cheap but they are nice lol
236bhp and 170ft/lb stock

whitelines are thicker and stronger and you have to change the "rubber thingies "anyway

much stronger and make the lude more stable ;)

I've decided to leave this until next year. It's not in imminent danger of failure and the stabilizing links can wait.
My list for this year is rather long and expensive already. :scaredtoss:

Mostly cosmetic. I've just finished cleaning the engine bay.
My main goal is to refurbish the calipers and put new disks on.

It's all time and money that I have little of these days.

Hey Tony, I've got a very good conditioned front ARB that I never got around to fitting to the silver lude if you want it. Just needs to be repainted to make pristine, which is what I was going to do. The rear I refurb'd and fitted to the car shortly before the oil pump failure, so I could remove that one as well if you wanted them both. Both OEM, both black.

I've also got a brand new set of Energy Suspension ARB bushes for the front (Still in the packet), and the rears were brand new when I fitted the refurb'd rear, so again, not many miles on them.

I'll need to check the condition of my front one, but I'm very interested. Especially as you have the bushes too.
I'll get back to you as soon as I can. Cheers Nafe. ;)
