Another Track 4th gen - Getting it back together

Post by Thebusofwoe » Sat Apr 05, 2014 9:12 pm

Hi guys.

Just a little update as to what I have done today. So I went up my mums place with the intention of sorting the wiring out and sorting any thing else out that would need doing on the car :x

Well I got the front bumper back on after fitting the JDM headlights 8-) :jdm:

Image

Then as I was finishing that up I looked and thought "where the hell did I put that battery tray?". Well turns out I binned the lot    Sooooo ended up sorting this out . . . . . . .

Image

Image

Battery in boot sorted 8-) 8-). This is a battery tray off a Ford transit  . There was no holes for tie down strap so hat to utilise the original tray fixing of battery side clamps. Had to make my own 8-) 8-) Nothing pretty but completely functional.

Then my mate turned up with 20 of these, free of charge as he was going to bin them . . .

Image

8-) 8-) Had to repair the thread on every one of them as they had been used on OEM Honda wheels and the taper hadn't matched, and it squashed the end of them. I have got these as the wheels I got off BJH have a different taper to the Honda wheels, so all good there now :D :D
I also got the heater box and pass airbag assy back in. Sorted a few things here and there but we are getting there now. The engine is scheduled to go in next weekend 8-)

Cheers chaps.

Another Track 4th gen - Engine back in/goodies fitted :)

Post by Thebusofwoe » Sat Apr 12, 2014 11:45 pm

Hi there chaps.

Today has been a long awaited day :D. So after all the wait and £££ spent on bits so far, Its heart is back in  :D

So today I got cracking after receiving the water pump (thanks to my missus ). I also had a mess up with my parts dept as they ordered me a flippin Accord 1.8 clutch kit, not a ATR kit so had to sort that also.

Anyway, here is more pics for those of you that I haven't board to death allready

Start off with fitting this . . . . £31, bargain :D Nice new water pump . . . .
Image

Then to get the Vtec Direct manual tensioner fitted . . . .
Image
NOTE: Fit the belt first, then bolt this on. Even when it is at its lowest adjustment, its drokking tight to get the belt on.

Then the belts ect . . . . .
Image
Image

Lastly balancer belt.
Image

Now if you look at the cambelt tensioner bearing housing, there is a hole where a bolt/stud goes through that holds the rubber seal? (sticks outside the belt cover) Well I remember taking this off, and I have lost the drokking thing. I remember thinking that it didn't do anything so will I be ok running this for a while until I can replace it????? :?

Had to replace the rocker cover seals too . . . .
Image

Gave the cambelt covers a good de-greasing and fitted them back on . . . .
Image
See the empty hole :?

Ok so engine now out of the garage, off its stand and to then fit this bad boy 8-) . . . . .
Image

Then the ATR clutch kit . . . . .
Image

Image
Image

Then got the motor back in its place :D :D 8-). Well happy now at this point. So will be getting things plumbed back in, things connected back up tomorrow. Should be fired up and running next weekend so long as every other thing goes ok :?

Oh and one more thing, Those of you that have fitted A ATR clutch kit to a Fidanza flywheel, did you find the clutch hard to wind down on the pressure plate bolts??? This one was tight all the way from the first thread of each bolt. I have never wound a clutch down like that before :? :?

All in all, happy so far.

Cheers chaps :)
