I own right now Honda Prelude `98 2,2L 136kW 4WS. Have a plan to get JDM engine for my car but got little consern. Does this engine works on my car because of this 4ws system?
Has somebody had experience with stuff like this?Does 4ws system get any signal from engine ECU or not? Are 5 gen Honda Prelude and JDM ECU plugs similar?I am from Estonia, so it is left side steering wheel. JDM engine will be 5gen type s. I tried an ecu from similar honda without 4ws and it gave an 4ws error light.

4ws has its own ecu and is connected to the abs ecu...
the engine ecu is separate, and wont effect the 4ws

I have a plan to change Honda Prelude H22 A5 engine to something more powerful.
Have played with some ideas and would like to ask for your opinion.
I change the camsafst and chip the ECU.Have thought about H22 A8 camsafst or Honda Accord Type R camsafts + H22 A8 ECU or does chiping the ECU give better results? If I am gonna change the camsafts do I have to change them together with valves or is it more thoughtful to change hole cylinder head?
Has somebody here H22 A8 camsafts,ECU or hole engine for sale or maybe Honda Prelude Type S engine or camsafts?

I doubt you would feel any noticeable difference. The difference between the stock engines is only 10-15bhp. The difference between a stock H22a5 and an H22a5 with the H22a8 cams would be even smaller as the H22a5 only has 10:1 comp pistons.
If you did go ahead and put H22a8 cams and a8 ECU on an H22a5 you would also need to retrofit a knock sensor to the H22a5. The H22a8 is the only UK Prelude engine to have a knock sensor so the ECU will be looking for one.
If you want to up the power you need to look at getting a tunable ECU. Since you have a 4th gen don't you have the H22a2? Or has that been swapped for the H22a5 at some point?
