Becca, it probably won't work for actually doing the position, however it will probably allow you to slow the movement right down so that you can stop it more accurately at the position you wanted.
Other option, one I looked at myself, is rewiring the motors to have a timer function in so you can select how long you want the circuit to be closed before it opens again, allowing programmable heights based on a time function.

Re: Project Back To The Future - 3G Aerodeck
Arch flares should arrive tomorrow... Will update with pictures when test fitting!
Hopefully they're subtle enough that the wheels will sit nicely in them rather than being massively tucked in!

Re: Project Back To The Future - 3G Aerodeck
They're the Celica Supra ones! I basically found some in a scrapyard but they were all ruined as they're fibreglass and the car had clearly rolled. But we ripped one off [literally, the arch came with it, rusty piece of....] aaaaanyway they seem to fit up fairly well so won't need too much modification hopefully, I've sourced some good condition ones from a specialist breakers and they're being posted
And the set up I'm having I'll probably have arch gap on the existing arch, but not necessarily under the flare, as I'm only running 14s and not going stupidly low, just quite low. So the arch flares will sit lower than the actual arches I think, but further out, meaning neither will foul the tyre [hopefully]
reading that back it doesn't make complete sense and sounds like rambling but I don't know how to reword it!

Re: Project Back To The Future - 3G Aerodeck
Yes, they just bolt on internally? So you won't see where they bolt on either, they should hopefully sit pretty flush, but I will have to put holes in my original bodywork which kind of scares me
Only problem is the rubber trim that goes between the flare and the bodywork has perished so I'll have to try to replace that! Buying new trim is about $80 a pair I believe, plus shipping [only place I've found] so I think I'll make something instead

Re: Project Back To The Future - 3G Aerodeck

I think there'll have to be a bit of minor cutting and smoothing too as they seem to flick to the bumper/ splitter in most images, although the one at the scrapyard wasn't at all like that so I don't know. I haven't even seen the ones I've bought so I hope they're ok....
