I think they're just lazy. This car has been listed a number of times - normally in the 'parts for sale' section (see post here) and I thought about buying it as well, but alarm bells started ringing when they didn't respond to texts or answer the phone when I wanted to ask a couple of questions about it.
I really hope this works out for you buddy..
I'll just leave this here in case it doesn't..

If she really is that ill, I can understand this will be far from the most important thing on their minds. I can understand you being pissed off/worried though!
If you're gonna be going past, drop in and play it non-threatening and see how it goes I suggest.
As far as taxing it, you don't need the MOT or insurance cert anymore if you go to the post office, but you will need the V5.
If the MOT and V5 really have been posted off and are lost in the post, then you can apply for a V5 with a form from the post office. You need to know the VIN and reg to do this. They write to the last registered keeper (I think) to verify if they've sold the car to you. You used to be able to tax it at the same time, using that form and another form for applying for the tax (I did that with the porka) but I'm not sure if you can still do that now? You can get duplicate copies of the MOT from the garage that issued it, but again, you don't really need the paperwork these days because it's all registered on the computer anyway...
I'm pleased I found such a decent guy to buy my porka - he sent deposit via paypal as a gift (so he paid fees - that was a stipulation of mine) and then bank transfered the balance within a couple of days and only then when I confirmed the money had arrived, did he look to book the transporter. I was well pleased. Great trust!

If she is that ill, then yes that is going to be his priority, but there's no excuse not to respond to you at all. Is he not at home at night. And if he really can't cope then he should just return your deposit and be done with it until she's better.c_doughty1 wrote:its just what if she is ill.

Said he would ask he how she posted it, but that was last Thursday and still no answer. In a way I hope he is telling the truth, but I'm not nasty so I kinda hope he'd lying too....I sound mental but I would only wish illness on hitleresk peopleNafemanNathan wrote:If she is that ill, then yes that is going to be his priority, but there's no excuse not to respond to you at all. Always a tricky one, people get ill so it's an easy excuse to make, even when not truec_doughty1 wrote:Said he would ask he how she posted it, but that was last Thursday and still no answer. I'd suggest just giving it 7 days from the last time you heard from him and then just get in contact again and outright ask for your money back. Obviously be sympathetic to his situation (Which I imagine you would be anyway), but just explain how you were wanting/needing a car now and so if he can't provide the car for you now you need to look elsewhere.

But why not keep in touch with you at all? He's not spending all his time in the hospital. There's no excuse for him to keep your money and ignore you. How long does it take to make a phone call or sent a text?... He could do that whilst he walks from the hospital to his car!c_doughty1 wrote:but ill in hospital why lie about that, that's pretty serious lie if so.

My point exactly, I think this is crap personally, but I will see this Friday as I have his address.NafemanNathan wrote:But why not keep in touch with you at all? That's if he is in.
I'm not confident.
