Thanks Merlin :D. I do have parts of the alarm left but tbh its all pretty cut up and sat out in the rain :? Tbh i didn't think it would be useful to any one. Sorry fella. The block was a bit of a nightmare to clean up. I used a can of gunk foam turd but it was fairly useless. I then used unipart degreaser in a spray bottle and scrubbed that in . . . Result :D :D

I wish I had the time to do all that work on my car...

What was wrong with it? Can I have it? :)

I am trying to install an OEM security system, and I might get the USDM optional one.

The ukdm alarms were supplied and fitted by Hamilton and Palmer @batkosio, they are still going and I have bought parts off them (fobs, door actuators) a few times.
I'm pretty sure they could supply the entire setup if required.

Oh and thanks anyway @thebusofwoe :)

Another Track 4th gen - bits and bobs fitted back on

Post by Thebusofwoe » Mon Mar 31, 2014 11:57 pm

Hi guys.

Well as some of you may know, I gave @CrunchyAdams82 a hand on Saturday. We was talking car stuff when he said "you got 6 weeks to get it done". At that point I then thought, yea SH1T. I have a shed load to do inc testing in them 6 weeks   .

So I got onto it yesterday and got some stuff done. So in no particular order I got this lot done, as well as some other stuff.

Image
New gasket for oil pump pic up pipe.

Image
Sump back on. Now, the gasket was well and truly drokked. Hard as nails and a few splits :x So I am pretty sure this was leaking along with the oil cooler seal. Soooooo . . . . I glued the bloody thing back on with sealer  I don't have the funds nor the time now to sort a new gasket out, as I will only use a genuine one. So this will have to wait till later in the year.

Image
Got the non ABS prop valve plumbed in. It looks a mess in the pic, BUT, is not that bad in person and is completely functional and leak free :D :D

Image
Next was the rear end. Here I got the heat shield back on, plastic jobby shields back on, antiroll bar, and bumper fixed on as it should.

Image
Rear discs, and pad carriers back on. Only to find both rear calipers are seized solid, so going to rebuild them at work next week

Image
Silicon the holes left behind from the A/C and alarm removal. Good old sealant

Image
Image
Then as it was getting dark I decided to swap the headlights for the JDM one piece units I had lying around :D

Then last pic I want to thank @bluejackhustler for the track wheels. Awsome matey :D :D
Image

So . . . . . . I still have a load to do . I have ordered the Vtec Direct manual tensioner, which should be here tomorrow. The Fidanza flywheel will also be here tomorrow. I already have the ATR clutch kit under my tool box  And just got to pick up the water pump. Then the motor can go back in. :)

Had a problem with the rear lower suspension arm bolts, as in I ripped off the bloody captive nuts when I cut the arms off. So had to sort other nuts, as the bolts are a big funny size. So apart from the calipers, the rear is almost done.

Getting quite excited now as I REALLY wana :vtec: this thing.

So I still have to do:

Fit manual tensioner and new cam belt
Clean gearbox
Fit flywheel and clutch
Fit motor back into car
Re-fit plastic sill trim pod things
Re-wire ignition system (alarm removal caused problems)
Re-fit heater motor and ecu
Get motor wired up/plumbed in
Fit the exhaust system back on
MOT,TAX,Insurance

Then go :vtec:. That's all chaps.
Cheers :D
