Another Track 4th gen - Motor bits
Hi guys.
Well not much done since the last update. The weather is hurting build time and with a family with 2 kids, not much time either!!!
So I thought I would at least take the cam belt covers off to see where all this coolant/oil is coming from.
Meh
what a mess I was met with. . . . . .

So the front balancer shaft seal is good. Not sure weather to touch that or not tbh!!
The rear balancer shaft seal for the gear housing is leaking quite badly!! The oil cooler seal is hussing out oil, The bloody auto tensioner has leaked oil out and the boot spring popped off. Tbh I don't know how this did not fail
. And the water pump is leaking!!
.

Aswell as it needing a sump gasket, spark plug tube seals and new belts ect and a bloody good clean.
I will be swapping out the auto tensioner with something like this beauty.

. KAIZENSPEED Version 2 manual tensioner
Will be putting a wanted thread up now to see if anyone can help me out with parts. Again, not a lot but still adding to the digital scrap book
Cheers

You know I was just thinking that too. Just looking back at the pics and thinking that its a lot of oil from the cooler sealwurlycorner wrote:You might well find the sump gasket is fine and it's all just spread out from the oil cooler seal?

Don't joke, that does happen... Once of the CXs my dad bought had evidently had a holed sump and the knobend's had repaired it by aralditing the smashed bits back together and over the hole!Thebusofwoe wrote:Maybe even glue it in to save some cash![]()

Another Track 4th - more mouse damage and bits removed
Hi guys.
Well got a little bit more done today
. Tbh I have got so much to do on it still I am not sure it's going to be ready for May
.
So I have done today, refit the front shocks after fitting the springs. Remove both front ABS sensors. Fitted the motor mount inserts. Test fit the stainless manifold I got from scrap yard. Removed more parts off the motor. Removed the a/c evaporator core, blower motor and removed the old oem Honda alarm system
.
I also bolted in the original leather drivers seat as I will be fitting the bucket seats later on
.
Here's some more pics. . . . .

Polly inserts fitted

Yummy

More wiring mess to bridge/sort out

Big old unit this, didn't realise how big it really was

The original alarm system, didn't work but cool to see it . . . And rip it out
And then whilst I had the air box ect out I remembered that when I first brought the car, I switch the heater on and it had a bad vibration. Well I just thought to my self, 'it will be leaves or something'. Well how wrong was I . . . . . . .

Well you remember our friend the mouse that ate its way through my 4ws sensor wires? Well the little fecking rat also decided to eat through my bloody blower motor fins too. Pissed off is an understatement
. So I will have to also remove the scuttle panel and check under that too
. Also found more chewed wires in the engine wiring harness whilst I was checking that today. Well apart from that that's about it for now.
Cheers chaps

Another Track 4th gen - TRM Brace + Bits
Hi guys.
Well with May approaching and me getting more excited, I decided I would try and get on with this Lude today. I didn't get much done as it's my birthday today so time spent with family ect.
Now I did get the TRM brace fitted, got the remaining rear adjuster cam washer fitted as well as the new lower arm bolts. Also got the new ball joint pressed into the nsr upper arm, so the rear is almost done
Made a start on fitting the new seals ready for its Gunk jet wash tomorrow, then my dad called so had to drop it at that point.

New ball joint in upper rear arm. Luuvvvvvly

The last part of the rear 2ws suspension conversion in . . . . . . or so I thought
. Well I ordered new lower arm bolts, got them and pushed them in. I then thought "what the hell did I do with the nuts". Then I remembered, they were captive nuts and I sheered them off as the old bushes/bolts where seized
Jeez, so now I have to find some nuts that will fit. And the thread is MASSIVE!!!!
So then I got this beauty fitted. . . . .

Slightly rubbish pics due to low light. But got me air disc cutter out and cut enough to be able to fit it without taking too much metal off. I wanted to keep it as neat as poss, and tbh I was quite pleased with it. After cutting it just dropped straight on
. Thanks again to @Ted
Then I thought I would get on with replacing the seals so I can get it jet washed tomorrow. Got the special tool, balancer shaft locking pin from work.

Got to that point and then thought "jobby, I have no idea how to time the bloody gear drive up". Then my dad called so had to leave it there.
I did find the instruction on how to do this in the full Gen4 manual, so now know what I am doing
.
So that's it for this eve. Doing more work tomorrow inc Gunk/jetwash, paint, replacing more seals and clean up the gearbox.
Cheers guys
